Kimmy – I’d say roughly 3 dozen, depending on what size you make the balls. I think the exact number ends up slightly different each time for me, but it’s generally around 30-40-ish.

@EclecticMamma — I love random 6 month late questions! Yes, you can definitely make them ahead. Here are a couple options: Once you poke the sticks in, and after you freeze them that way, you can throw them in an airtight container and they’ll keep in the freezer for about two weeks. Then on the day you need them, dip them and let them set.
If you want to dip them in chocolate way ahead of time, you could store them at room temperature from Wednesday until Saturday. Probably not much longer, though. And I wouldn’t recommend freezing them already dipped. It won’t ruin them, but the chocolate coating will get that whitish residue that it gets when it goes through extreme temperature changes. They’ll still taste fine, they just won’t look as pretty.

These Oreo truffles were amazing! As were the chocolate, whipped cream, strawberry cupcakes that Darren brought into work today. Thank you LaChelle! I LOVE the Oreo idea! I crazily volunteered to make cake pops for a party without considering a) I’ve never made cake pops before b) I’m working up until the point I have to go to the party. This is the best recipe to make sure I still bring cake pops to the party. Thanks for sharing
